At long last, with a grateful nod to Diogenes- my first blog.
Noteable, perhaps, is the fact that this day also marks the anniversary of Mr. Wells' (in)famous
faux-reportage of the Martian Invasion. Awe-spicious indeed. Whether or not it is actually of any significance remains to be seen.
This is my only caveat- that the Gods of serendipity or happenstance, the muses who flit about the ethereal and ill-defined boundries between coincidence and conjuration, may well bless or curse this, this my intentional foray into a realm I will never understand. May I never play Kurtz through my acclimation, may I never suffer to propagate prideful pontifications, and may I never cause or suffer to cause stagnation of thought or the malignancy of self importance.
Welcome.

A kingdom was lost...all for the want of a bottle of bubbly.
I'm also your first commenter. Call me The Enabler.
Ahhhck. A codependent relationship!
And here I thought you'd be passing out cigars.
Congratulations on your blog! You have needed this, I think, for a long time. You will have to explain to me what it means to "play Kurtz," though. Cheers to Orson Wells!

hello there becca!
thanks for congrats-
catharsis here i come!
"playing kurtz" is a tip-o-the-hat to conrad's man in "heart of darkness" or, if you prefer, to brando and coppola. just an admission of my fear of "going native" amongst these savage techies...!
And what a time to launch a blog.
Too late to toss my share of combustibles on the flames of this election cycle? Perhaps. Would be hard to match that incendiary pearl of my brother's- his idea for a GOP fundraiser. Sarah Palin and Joe the Plumber making a XXX film together? Sheesh.
Actually, with the USA's film rating "system" they could cut a couple of the X's- just make another slasher flick with just a hint 'o sleaze. Grab Cheney and some of the other Old Boys & remake Caligula.
OK. I guess I just hung-out some political laundry. Was bound to happen- best to get it out of the way.
